An experimental Tumblog in which two very sad (and very easily distracted) little girls will complete weekly art assignments using each other as motivation. We have a real need to do art, and a real inability to see anything through to completion. This is us fixing our shit. It may get interesting.
We took a break for the holidays and moving and such but we shall be posting again very soon. In fact, we do have a project in mind, we’ve just missed the deadline so many times that it got buried. It is…..
DESIGN AND PRINT A T-SHIRT!!
I’m going to put a tentative due date on this of Sunday, 1/29. I’d better get designin’!
D’s entry:
A little late, I know. But here’s my project! My boy’s a runner and I thought some winged shoes would be appropriate. I used sculpty, my oven, gold paint, ribbon and of course googly eyes. Also, I accidentally dropped the bag of googly eyes during this project so random objects in my house have become cycloptic, including my living room rug. Needless to say, lots of expletives were said during this project.
This was meant to be a little wooden sign for the Bugbear Bungalow (the name my boyfriend has started calling our basement). We play D&D with some friends of ours and he’s the DM. One of my past characters had a soft spot for bugbears, so they’ve become sort of a running joke with us. I thought one with googly eyes would be pretty funny.
Unfortunately, I didn’t plan this out too well. I’d never done a transfer before, and my printer is out of black ink. It was waaaay too light the first time, so I tried to do it twice. It got blurry down at the bottom because the two didn’t quite match up. Fail. I may try to go over it with ink eventually but figured I’d post it ‘as-is’ before the clock ran out.
WEEK TWO ASSIGNMNENT - This week’s Iron Chef-inspired experiment is to create a holiday gift for our significant others incorporating a special ingredient - GOOGLY EYES! This will be due Sunday Dec. 18th.
Yup, NO EXCUSES! If you think it’s crap… well, I think you’re crap. So there. I do wish I had a working scanner though and had cleaned it up a bit in photoshop. But those are excuses and it is what it is. YAYYYY, Can’t wait for next week!
My excuses: 1) I haven’t drawn anything in probably 10 years. 2) I never could draw dogs. The chihuahua looks really, really bad and I know this. 3) This was the worst assignment ever and I blame Danielle.
BUT I got no outside help (besides reference photos from the Internet for the dogs) and it’s better than nothing! That’s the point, and I’m okay with it in that respect.
